Candles, Tealights, & Wax Melts

I use 2 blends of coconut and soy wax to create all container candles, tealights, and wax melts. These waxes melt at around 115-125 degrees F, so be cautious when ordering in hot weather as refunds are not given for melted products. Please refer to this page for all terms of sale and policies.

Pillar candles are made of a soy paraffin blend that has a melting point of 133 degrees F, but still be cautious when ordering in hot weather conditions.

All candles, tealights, and wax melts are created handmade by me in my art studio, with phthalate, paraben, and carcinogen free fragrance oils. These products may form crystals and frost over time or discolor, especially with certain colors or fragrances. Crystals occur as the wax cools and it tries to return to it’s original chemical state, and are also a sign that the product is made up of 100% natural wax. Also due to the state of natural waxes, all wax products may sweat upon shipping or if stored in a hot place. Products store best out of sunlight, in a 68-72 degree room.

Wicks & Lighters

Suggested lighter use: use BBQ lighters, electric lighters, or extended butane lighters for 100% safety and to insure proper burn.

Trouble getting your wick to stay lit?
Make sure your wick is trimmed to 1/4”, a wick that is too long will make it harder for the flame to reach the wax to create an even melt pool. A wick that is too short will drown in the wax and will self extinguish. If your wick is self extinguishing (drowning), melt the wax right around the wick with a lighter. Dab out the excess wax with a paper towel or safely drain it unlit. Repeat if necessary.
Candle tunneling?
Tip 1:
Tunneling occurs if the candle was not lit correctly on the first burn. Wax has memory, so it will continue to tunnel if the issue has not been resolved. If the tunneling is mild, quickly blast the top of the candle with a hairdryer while moving the hairdryer a bit so the wax doesn’t splash. Do not hold the candle while using this technique. The hot air will melt and smooth the wax, making it more level. The next time you light the candle, follow the instructions above or on your instructional card and ensure the first layer of wax burns so tunneling does not occur any longer.
To use the tin foil method: light the candle and place aluminum foil over the edges of the top of the candle. The tin foil will reflect heat back onto the candle, melting the wax around the edges and not just in the middle. When removing foil, extinguish the candle and be sure to use an oven mitt or heat protection when holding the foil.
Tip 2: Scrape excess wax out of candle gently while it is not in use. Discard the excess wax and trim wick to 1/4” then relight and burn for the proper amount of time.

If your tunneling is too extreme, electric candle warmers can be used for glass candles ONLY (no concrete candles). Place candle on the warmer and it will melt similarly to a wax melt. Beware, candle will be hot to the touch.

Wax Product Safety Information

Safety information for candles and tealights: Do not ingest. If ingested, contact physician or poison control center immediately. Only burn within sight on a level fire resistant surface and away from drafts. Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets. Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4”. Trim before each use. Tunneling or large/small wicks will result from an improperly trimmed wick. Clear wicks of material or debris prior to lighting. Do not light candles for more than 4 hours at a time, and do not light tealights for more than 2 hours at a time. Light candles with an electric or long butane lighter to prevent injury and to ensure a strong flame.

Safety information for wax melts: Do not ingest. If ingested, contact physician or poison control center immediately. Wax melts are for external use only. Keep away from children and pets. Always melt within sight. Melts must always be placed in the ceramic warmer dish. Not doing so could damage electrical components and increase the risk of injury. Do not melt wax in water. Do not touch wax when it is melted, there is high risk of injury when touching hot wax. Avoid contact with fabrics as melted wax may cause staining. To clean melt dish, allow wax to solidify and remove with a ceramic safe utensil. Remaining wax can be melted down and wiped out with a hot sponge or cloth. Do not pour melted wax into drain.

Safety information for pillar candles: Do not ingest. If ingested, contact physician or poison control center immediately. Only burn within sight in a level fire resistant dish or holder and away from drafts. Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets. Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4”. Trim before each use. Tunneling or large/small wicks will result from an improperly trimmed wick. Clear wicks of material or debris prior to lighting. Do not light candles for more than 4 hours at a time. Light candles with an electric or long butane lighter to prevent injury and to ensure a strong flame.

Fairy Mists (Room Sprays)

All room sprays are body and fabric safe. They all contain organic witch hazel, double purified water, and phthalate, paraben, and carcinogen free fragrance oils.

Safety information for fairy mists: Shake well before use. Spray towards the center of the room away from face. Test on a small patch of skin on your arms/leg prior to use. Discontinue use if any skin irritation occurs. Keep away from heat and flames. Patch test on small piece of fabric before spraying onto bed or larger fabric area. Keep away from children and pets. Spot test any use on fabrics, may stain some surfaces.

reed diffusers

Safety information for reed diffusers: Flammable liquid. Do not light reeds Do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children and pets. People suffering from perfume sensitivity should take caution when using this product. Use gloves when handling reeds. Do not use as perfume or on any skin.
